Leadership

A church is primarily led by it’s minister. But it’s important for a group of people to share the burden and responsibility of decision making and oversight of the workings of a church, both it’s activities and it’s people.

Church leadership should not be bossy – leaders should never take advantage of their position. Instead we seek to follow Jesus’ example, who though he was King of the Universe, chose to serve his lowly followers.

Wellfield has a Leadership team of people who meet monthly, and who support our minister in decision making and review. There is a wider group of trustees who meet with the Leadership team every other month, and are included in these processes.

Each year we have an annual general meeting around our church’s birthday in October. This is an opportunity for the Leadership Team and Trustees to share plans and information about the running of the church, for example the church accounts.

We operate as a registered charity no. 1194776 Current trustees can be found here https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-search/-/charity-details/5177884/trustees
