Throughout the entire history of the worldwide church, issues have been cropping up which are particular to the time period, the region, or the cultural context of the church. The church’s job is to speak God’s truth into these issues – not in a reactive way, blindly navigating through it, but instead by taking God’s unchanging truth, and applying it to the situation.
We find ourselves in a particular time and place, with many agendas facing us. But we know great confidence by trusting that the same God will bring us through these things as he has done with our historical brothers and sisters in Christ.
Sometimes, taking a Biblical viewpoint can be unpopular; yet cutting through the prevailing winds of culture, and speaking God’s no-nonsense truth can be hugely refreshing!
